Decor: New Bedroom Finds

Hey Everyone,

I hope you have had a good week.

Today I am doing a very different post but if you follow me on Twitter you will know that I have been wanting to expand this blog into a variety of different areas. Although we will always have skincare and beauty posts I thought it would be fun to add some more things.

I am in the process of redecorating my room and I have made a few changes so far. I am saving up and changing as I go (which is hard when you're a student with a part time job). I am always on the lookout for great finds and recently I added a few things to my bedroom that are super affordable and have really transformed my room quite a bit. I hope these finds may inspire you or maybe help you in your redecorating.

Ikea Alvine Kvist Bedding

This bedding I saw on the ohhh so lovely (and quite addicting) Pinterest. I absolutely love it. It is simple white with faded black (almost dark grey) floral design. I purchased the set which came with a Queen Duvet Cover and 2 sham covers. The set is $54.99 which is super affordable and the bedding is just gorgeous. It is simple and elegant at the same time and really glams up my room. It also goes with everything because of the simple colours. I really believe in keeping the big things simple and adding colour with accessories and this is perfect because you can add any colours you would like and this bedding will match beautifully.

I picked up a couple of things at Target during a recent trip and I was so excited for these new pieces.

Circo Chloe and Conner Side Table

This night table is technically for kids (yes kids) but it works perfectly and is actually taller than the previous adult nigh stand I had. I needed a white night stand because my bed is white and I wanted things to match. Initially I was thinking a mirrored night stand but when I saw this it was perfect and again... affordable! It was $89.99 which was much cheaper than a lot of the night stands I was looking at before. It has a very deep set drawer that holds a lot of items and a shelf which holds a few night time reading materials perfectly. If you're in need of a table for your bed side, check this one out. It was super simple to assemble (with my dad's help :)) and it is very durable if you don't shove too much in the drawer I think this piece could last a really long time.

Threshold Mercury Glass Lamp Base

My mom helped me pick out this little gem. I am so obsessed with this pieces. It looks like it costs so much more but it was only $39.99 for the size I have. It did come in a second, much larger size. It is beautiful and its mirrored glass feature makes it look quite elegant. This lamp could make any room look a bit more glamorous and you don't have to spend upwards of $80.00 for a beautiful lamp.

Threshold Linen Drum Lamp Shade

This shade goes great with the lamp. It is simple which lets all the attention go towards the base but it is still elegant and chic and fits perfectly. It was also only $16.99, STEAL!!!

(Please excuse the messy phone wires on the ground)

The wallpaper which you can see in the background of the pictures above I added a few months ago after I repainted. I got this wallpaper from Graham and Brown online and it is the Province Grey Wallpaper.

My bedroom paint colour is Light French Grey by Behr Paint.

There you have it folks. Some new decor finds. I really hope this helps some of you in realizing that you don't have to spend a ton of money to get some really awesome items to change up your entire room.

I hope you enjoyed a new type of post to the blog. Decor posts won't be too frequent as I am still saving up for some new items but let me know in the comments what you would like to see next. I still have quite a few things I want to do to my room before it is "complete" such as adding moulding to frame the wallpaper as well as purchasing big items like a new dresser, desk, and entry table that can house some dvd's but this will all take some time.

Next week I have a very special post going up as my 50th blog post. It is super awesome and I have been working on it for the past 2 weeks so make sure to come back and check that one out, especially if you are into the skincare posts.

Stay Happy!
